There is a darkness

There is a darkness in one's soul today
It has presumed to hide
to use thine as a shelter
or as a shelter used
where it came from is not sure
whether it was the gloom brought from the sky
or the depression of one's mind
or the mind it did depress
or while looking for depression, the darkness, it defined
does one revel in this defined depression

once, one looked for happiness
such cheer came from this, flowed from that
and on occasion was seemingly found
seemingly found seeped away
same objects brought uncomfort
brought unsurety

is thine comfort better found surrounded without cheer
it is true that one relaxes completely alone and enclosed
surely is not cheer or those things which bring such
